Carton Live Storage is used when high density storage is required together with a large quantity of pick slots. It is generally used for medium to high volume lines.
This enables order pickers to pick a large number of SKU’s in a relatively condensed space e.g. a bay may contain 8 lanes wide x 5 high = 40 pick spaces.
Once the front item is picked, the next product moves forward to replace it.
The system allows for automatic stock rotation, and the depth of each lane and the number of lanes per SKU is determined by daily volume.
The roller / mini wheels are set at a decline so stock rolls forward from the load face, to the pick face.
